Dental Check-Ups Held

The yearly check-ups were held last August 3, Tuesday. The school’s dentist Dr. Roque “Bo” Eugenio along with Dr. Marichu Tamayo- Lozano conducted the check-ups.
The dental check-up is one of the activities vigorously promoted by the school to increase health and nutrition awareness among the pupils. Much to the dentists’ delight none of the preschoolers showed any fear of having their teeth examined. The whole activity went smoothly with all the pupils eagerly anticipating their turn at the “dental chair.”

SRBCL At Kalinga Ng Ama

The primary level pupils (Grades I – III) went to Kalinga Ng Ama Shelter for Children in Bonuan Gueset last July 29, Thursday to conduct a feeding activity and bring the collected donations for the shelter’s orphans.
This activity was an extension of the yearly cook fest that the school holds to celebrate the Nutrition Month. Instead of the pupils simply consuming the food that they have prepared as in the years past, this year, to add a dimension of social responsibility and community involvement, the school decided that a feeding activity would best extend the experience for the SRBCL pupils.
Pastor Rolando Santiago heads the shelter, catering to children between the ages of 1 – 18.

Health Week Celebrated

July is celebrated nationwide as the Nutrition Month, and this year SRBCL celebrated the Nutrition Month with its drawing and slogan making activities in the classrooms, health lectures, culminating in a cook fest of both the preschool and elementary levels. The one week activity from July 26 – July 30 started with the intermediate level pupils (Grades IV – VI) cooking a healthy lunch fare for the whole elementary grades and the faculty.
The primary graders had their turn on July 29, Thursday when they prepared sandwiches for everybody in school and chicken macaroni soup to be served to the orphans at Kalinga Ng Ama Shelter for Children.
The preschoolers excitedly prepared their own snacks of sandwiches and chocolate drink. This is the first year that the preschoolers were asked to join the cook fest though they have been long customers of the graders’ delicious treats.

I’ve never been much of a Valentine’s Day person, BUT it’s hard not to be one when you’re working with children. They simply looove Valentine’s! It’s probably the red color, generally the first color they learn, coupled with the heart shape which most kids seem to really like, but kids respond to Valentine’s with almost [...]
Faculty development is one of the areas where SRBCL puts a premium on. And every year, one of the activities that is never missed is the whole faculty’s “Lakbay Aral,” where a mere summer outing is extended and enriched so as to make it a learning experience in all sense of the word. This year’s [...]
Noted American author and philosopher Sam Keen is quoted as saying that “deep summer is when laziness meets respectability.” That is the excuse for the rather long wait you had before this site was updated, because just like most pupils, teachers too await the coming of summer vacation. It is the best time to unwind, [...]
