Eden at the 23rd PKF National Open

65Elizabeth Eden, a petite Grade II pupil added to her growing collection of karate medals in the recently concluded 23rd PKF National Open Karatedo Championship held at CSI Stadia, Lucao, Dagupan City last April 21- 22.

Eden scored a Bronze medal in the Girls Kata (Ages 6- 7).

Serafica Shines at the Palaro

85Matthew Serafica, a Grade III pupil posed and sparred his way to two medals in the recently concluded 2010 Palarong Pambansa held in Tarlac City.

The karatekas from Region I hauled 20 medals in all, coming out as the Over-all Champions in the Karate Event of the Palaro, with Serafica contributing a silver and bronze medal to the kitty. He grabbed the silver medal in the Boys Kumite (Ages 8-9) and the bronze medal in the Boys Kata (Ages 8-9).

Moving-Up Day

The graduating Preparatory and Grade VI classes had their Moving-Up Day last March 27, Friday. The occasion held at Bellarmine Hall was at 4:30 in the afternoon and graced by the presence of DepEd Education Supervisor, Dr. Nora F. Benavides, who was this year’s Speaker and Confirming Guest. This year’s theme was, “Education Sets Us Free.”

There were ten graduating preschool pupils and six Grade six pupils for SY 2009- 2010.

This year’s preschool graduates were: (Boys) Austria, Johnel Matthew D., Barredo, Antonio Luis T., Caracas, Paul Danielle L., Coronel, Juan Carlos C., Elegores, Lance Angelo B., Estrada, John David C., Febreo, Elijah River O., (Girls) Carrera, Glowee Ann M., Reyes, Allyson T., and Roxas, Erielle Zaina F.

The fourth batch of SRBCL elementary graduates was composed of: (Boys) Bernal, Raymond Alfred P., Quinto, Jann Adrian C., Rosario, Edward Joseph M., (Girls) Peregrino, Loren Therese D., Pinlac, Charina D., and Sta. Maria, Diane Samantha M.

Loren Therese D. Peregrino (SRBCL Pupil since SY 2003 – 2004), Charina D. Pinlac
(SRBCL Pupil since SY 2004 – 2005), and Diane Samantha M. Sta. Maria (SRBCL Pupil since SY 2004 – 2005) received the SRBCL Silver Loyalty Award. For her consistent exemplary academic performance for the school year, Diane Samantha M. Sta. Maria was awarded this year’s Academic Excellence Award.

For the Preparatory Class, the six gold medalists were: Johnel Matthew D. Austria, Antonio Luis T. Barredo, Juan Carlos C. Coronel, Lance Angelo B. Elegores, Elijah River O. Febreo, and Allyson T. Reyes. The lone preschool silver medalist was Erielle Zaina F. Roxas.

Preschool and Grade School Recognition Day

The preschool levels from Toddler to Kindergarten had their Recognition Day last March 26, Friday held at 8:30 AM at Bellarmine Hall while the Grades I – V held their occasion at 4:00 in the afternoon of the same day and venue.

The theme for both activities was “Education Sets Us Free” highlighting one of the importance of valuing one’s educational experience.

Academic excellence in different areas was awarded as well as other important skills such as arts, athletics and computer education. There were 18 gold medalists in the preschool level and 14 in the grade school level. The silver medal haul for the preschool was 7 and 11 for the grade school.

Ribbons were likewise awarded to each pupil to give importance to the different positive traits they exhibited during the school year.

Grade VI Gives Back

The Grade VI Batch 2010 raised close to five thousand pesos to purchase and donate two science models to the school’s laboratory. The whole year science project dubbed “The Legacy Project” had the six Grade VI pupils pooling their efforts in different activities such as Bingo games, raffles and food retail to raise money.

The two plastic models of the heart and brain will become permanent science laboratory models that will benefit the succeeding batches. For the Grade VI class, working for the year-long project is one of their most memorable experiences of the school year. Their feeling of happiness and pride in their accomplishment is truly well-deserved.

Grade VI Takes NAT

The graduating Grade VI pupils took that National Achievement Test (NAT) last March 5, 2010 Friday. This was the first time all graduating grade six pupils in all private schools took the exams along with the grade six pupils of the public schools.

The three hour test tested knowledge and skills in five subject areas, namely English, Math, Science, Filipino and Hekasi.

The SRBCL pupils took the exams in the school’s premises but were monitored by two teachers from two different schools. The Room Examiner assigned to SRBCL was Ms. Cherie Ann Abrazaldo of St. Michael the Archangel School and the Testing Coordinator was Mr. Cherwin Soriano of Mt. Calvary Baptist Academy.

The Grade VI pupils who took part in the test were: Raymond Alfred P. Bernal, Loren Therese P. Peregrino, Charina D. Pinlac, Jann Adrian C. Quinto, Edward Joseph M. Rosario and Diane Samantha M. Sta. Maria.
